Cabbage Hill Schnitzel Haus Chef/Owner Daniel Kilp grew up eating German food with his family at local festivals. His father's family comes from the Cabbage Hill section of Lancaster City, and before starting his business at Southern Market, he was the executive chef at Lancaster Liederkranz.
German food is Chef Daniel's passion, and making sure his food is authentic German, made from scratch— the way a German mother would want it— is the inspiration for his delicious fare.
From the trademark schnitzel to other delectable dishes, like pierogies, bratwurst, sauerkraut, jager gravy, and kielbasa, the Cabbage Hill menu has options for almost everyone. Including Chef Daniel's 1-pound soft pretzel, served with beer cheese and mustard, his original recipe that has been tested and perfected over the years.
